Making Arts For All!
From painting to ceramics to tie dye, become an artist at the Athens Arts4All on May 4 and 5, 2019 at the H. Rowe Middle School in Athens, PA. Over the course of the weekend,everyone will be able to experience the process of making art! The ceramics students from AAHS will be in the Rowe Artroom to help you create your own clay vessel which you can choose to fire, glaze, and keep. Open Arts Studio will be outside with tie dye Arts4All shirts decorated by your own hand. They will also be painting rocks as part of a community project to beautify one of the inner courtyards at Rowe Middle School. Lauren Vargeson will be available both days to help you design and chalk your own personalized sign ready to go in just a few minutes. Specific art classes will also be offered in the Tech Ed Room in Rowe. Led by a variety of painting specialists from across the area, you can follow their step by step instructions to create your own fantastic work. On Saturday from 10-12PM, Amy Swingle will be dreaming of warmer days with a Beach Painting in acrylic paint. From 2-4PM Saturday, Stilletos Fine Arts will be celebrating Star Wars Day with images of R2D2 and BB8. Sunday will start with a Glass Painting class from Open Canvas Arts from 10-12PM and wrap up with The Party Brush making decorative signs from 2-4PM. Athens Arts4All Entertainment Schedule
Art, Music and More! On May 4 and 5, 2019, the Athens Arts4All will rock the Harlan Rowe Middle School! Not only will there be a wide array of artisans demonstrating and selling their work, performers from across the region representing many different musical styles will be filling two stages. This year, performances will take place in the Rowe LGI room and on the Foster Law Office stage outside. On Saturday, the LGI will kick off with performances from a variety of AASD and SASD musical groups from 10-12PM. Brian Murphy will jazz it up at 12:45PM. At 2:00 PM, local students Zach Anderson and Gary Raupers add their touch to personal favorites. CC Ryder will bring the folk as well as original songs at 3:00 PM. At 4:00 PM, Dusty and Friends will take us all on a trip to Oz with a family-friendly drag performance inspired by The Wizard of Oz. On the outdoor stage Saturday, Rebecca and the Soul Shakers will get things moving with powerhouse sounds at 12PM. Junction Run cranks up the energy at 1:20PM with a blend of country and rock. At 2:30 PM, Friends with Benny’s adds their own eclectic sounds to the mix. Closing out the show outside on Saturday, Molina will bring Alternative/Rock at 3:45PM. On Sunday, the LGI will again feature the sounds of musical groups from AASD and SASD from 10-12PM. Young rising country musician Payton Clark takes the stage at 12:45PM. At 2:00 PM, Don Baragiano combines diverse styles into a World Music sound you need to experience. Nova Strange will close out the show in the LGI with their unique intergalactic dance music at 3:15PM. On the outdoor stage Sunday, Voodoo Highway will bring the toe-tapping blues at 12:00PM. Diana and the Crew Band take the stage at 1:15PM with Pop and Classic Rock. At 2:20PM, 3D with bring a mix of Celtic, Jazz and Ragtime. Ending the day outside on Sunday will be A Part of Pluto at 3:15 PM with some serious rock and roll. Don’t miss a great weekend of art and music at the Athens Arts4All! What a great start! Athens Arts4All 2018 showcased a wide range of artisans, students, food vendors and performers. In total, over 6,000 people joined in the fun while celebrating the arts. We were also able to donate $4,500 to the art and music programs in Athens Area School District. This year we are aiming even higher! With a new layout, more artisans, free admission and expanding our support for the arts in our community.
The Second Annual Athens Arts4All will be held at Rowe Middle School in Athens, PA, on Saturday, May 4, from 10-5pm and Sunday, May 5, from 10-4pm in 2019. The mission of this event is to allow the community to celebrate the arts through exposure, experience and expression. As a non-profit volunteer organization, Arts4All plans to direct as much money and support as possible to the arts in our local schools and communities. The Second Annual Athens Arts4All will be a lively two-day juried arts festival held at Rowe Middle School. Professional artisans, student vendors, musical performances and delicious food offerings will be the highlights of the show. Students will take the spotlight in artwork displays and ceramics demonstrations. Learners of all ages will be able to take part in on-site art classes. Community groups and school organizations will be on hand to share information. Changes this year will include: FREE ADMISSION, a blend of indoor and outdoor vendors, an outdoor performance stage, additional art classes and a community art project for everyone. We anticipate even more student artisans and unique food vendors as well as FREE ADMISSION! Did we mention that it is FREE?
